Future Space is a workspace and hub for innovators and entrepreneurs in Bristol. It is co-located with UWE Bristol, Bristol Robotics Laboratory, and the Health Tech Hub.

BRIEF

To raise awareness of the Future Space community, tell member stories and increase visibility of both members and staff on social media and within the Bristol tech and innovation community.

ACTION

Future Space is a leading hub for innovation, offering incubation for startups and business support as well as lab and office space.

Being based outside of Bristol city centre, the team were feeling disconnected from the broader innovation ecosystem in the city and wanted people to know about the amazing work their member businesses were doing.

Together with the team I developed key communication pillars and built a content plan around these. One of the key themes that the team wanted to be known for was community.

I took over management of all the Future Space social media channels, and focused content around people - the people who benefit from Future Space and the people who make it happen.

Through case studies, quotes, pictures and live coverage of events we increased their total following across Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram by more than 100%.

I also made sure to celebrate their key achievements through PR, leading to coverage in Tech South West, Bristol24/7, Business Innovation Magazine and TechSpark. In 2021 I nominated the team for the SPARKies Community award, which they went on to win, increasing the visibility of the team across Bristol.
